Artist's Description
The regal silhouette of a Saguaro Cactus stands against the setting sun just east of Tucson, Arizona near Saguaro National Park (Rincon Mountain Unit). This cactus is a true monarch of the Sonoran Desert, and this photo has an iconic feel to me. The blossoms of the Saguaro are also still visit on its arms and at the top.
This iconic southwestern landscapes features some amazing sunsets, especially during the rainy season (also known as Monsoon season). Although it is a bit early for monsoon season to hit the Old Pueblo, and forecasters say it won't be fore a while, I couldn't help but notice magnicifcent clouds building up so I had to head out to the area near Saguaro National Park (Rincon Mountain division) to capture these photos of the gold, yellow, and deep blue radiance and glowing heavenly excellence that overtook the the region this June evening.

Holy moly -- this is absolutely incredible. The sky is just amazing. The silhouette is just perfectly framed in this! Great capture, Chance!! L/F Featured in American Desert Southwest. (Although, it does look as if that Saguaro is having a bit of a bad hair day. I know those are buds, however, it looks like it had a bit of a bad run in with a curling iron...and lost... LOL)
Chance Kafka replied:
Thank you so much for you very kind words as always, Jane! And hahaha yes it does. These cacti sure do look human sometimes!
