Description
The Elephant Head Monolith in the Santa Rita Mountains is cast in sunlight as snow falls atop Mount Wrightson on a cold, winter day in the Sonoran Desert. The Santa Rita Mountains tower to the south of Tucson above the communities of Sahurita, Green Valley, Amado and Tubac at the eastern end of the Santa Cruz River Valley. Moody, dramatic clouds hide the highest peaks of the mountain range as creosote bushes line the landscape below.
