Description
This is my "official portrait" of the Fine Art America Tony Award which I have won for the month of August, 2020. This is a travelling award, given from one artist to the next. Only a handful of people have gotten to hold this special award, and it is very meaningful that I was able to be among that group. Seeing how many of my followers really like my night scenes in both my photography and art, I decided to take the award out to the desert, away from the city light pollution of Tucson, and photograph the glow of moonlight illuminating the translucent disks in the top of the trophy. To the left we see Jupiter and a few stars (out of focus, due to the depth of field, but still prominent). It was a fairly humid night, with storm activity in the atmosphere, allowing the moon to glow behind the award really brightly. There is something so magical about moonlight at night.
I would like to thank Jerry Bokowski for nominating me for this award, Tony Murray for creating it, and Abbie Shores for her help in facilitating nominations. I will hold this award for the remainder of August, until I myself pass it along to another artist.
