Description
This is a capture of Finger Rock Canyon located to the north of Tucson, Arizona. The foothill in front is lit up in the last light of day while the taller peaks have fallen into shadow, creating a dramatic contrast. Finger Rock is a pillar pointing straight toward the sky and resembles a finger, capturing the imaginations of those who view it in and around Tucson.

During Arizona football broadcasts, cameramen would zoom in on the finger, Chance. I painted a scene of it from near here. The dead end of Alvernon Way. Great shot here!....fav / like
Chance Kafka replied:
Jerry, what a neat nugget of information. Yep, the dead end of Alvernon. The trail that goes up off of Alvernon to the spot where one can see all the mountains is one of my favorite places ever. I would like to do a plen air painting there sometime if there was somewhere to sit.
