Description
The vast expanse of the Pacific Ocean is observed from an American Airlines flight from Phoenix to Honolulu. Looking north, nothing but endless ocean is visible for miles and miles, with clouds hovering over the reflective water miles below. At this altitude, the sky looking upwards is much darker than seen from sea level. One does not comprehend the size of the Pacific Ocean without flying several hours over it and realizing one has not even crossed half of the ocean. In fact, it is so large there are two antipodal points (meaning, two points on earth that are directly opposite each other) that are located within the Pacific Ocean (a spot in the ocean near Indonesia is directly opposite the planet from another off the coast of the Chile).
