Artist's Description
The setting sun lights up the grasslands of the high desert and the sillohuette of Elephant Head south of Tucson. This area, near Green Valley and Madera Canyon, is highlighted by grasslands as it is apart of the Sonoran Desert upland and just a bit too high to sustain the type of vegetation (i.e. iconic saguaro cactus) found down lower.
The golden light lights up these grasses in a magical winter display, as Elephant Head Butte, known for its resemblance of an elephant's head at the right time of day and right handle, sits to the left. Southern Arizona, as does the rest of the state and the American Southwest, has some truly wild and beautiful country. I particularly happen to love the warm backlight on this grass.
