Description

Snow has overtaken the Grand Canyon as fog envelops the landscape at twilight. Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona is one of the most spectacular icons of the United States is the pinnacle of the desert southwest. From the perspective of Desert View Point near Desert View watchtower, we look at the icy Colorado River in the distance, cutting through the gorges as the pinyon trees atop this vista are covered in frost.

The park is especially moody and dramatic in winter, and looks a bit different than when seen during more popular warm months. A mood of solitude, peace, and tranquility is established by the cool blue, white and gray tones.
