Description
Kokpelli plays his flute amid the grass of Buffalo Park in Flagstaff, Arizona as the San Francisco Peaks rise in the background. Snowy Humphreys Peak is the highest point in the state of Arizona at over 12,000 feet high. It. along with Agassiz Peak, form the San Francisco Volcanic field - these high peaks, above the treeline, form a ring with the famed Arizona Snow Bowl in the middle. This ancient stratavolcano rises amid the Kaibab Plateau, much of which is covered in pine trees and is part of the Coconino National Forest.
Kokopelli, a flute player spirit believed in Native American tradition to be a harbinger or fertility, rain and mischief is a timeless symbol of the Southwest. As an impressionistic painting with a blue sky and a few clouds, this idyllic Colorado Plateau morning scene in northern Arizona is part of an ongoing series of Kokpelli amid notable Arizona landscapes.
