Description
This is a hand drawn digital painting. Kokopelli returns, this time atop a mountain ridge somewhere in Arizona playing his flute as the moon rises behind him. This character has fascinated me for a long time. Depicted on many ancient Native American petroglyhps, he is often thought of as a spirit of mischief and fertility. He is a timeless symbol of the American Southwest and I wanted to convey a peaceful, magical scene where his silhouette blends in with my favorite plants of the Sonoran Desert - the Saguaro Cactus and ocotillo, during the nighttime. Many stars fill the night on this warm night, too.

It is hard to beat the moon and the desert. When you add the sound of the flute, as you have suggested here, the mystery and wonder deepens my friend. Wonderful work Chance. F/L/TW.
