Description
The moon is seen over Golden Gate Mountain of the Tucson Mountains at twilight. The eerie light cast by twilight and dramatic and stormy clouds moonlight peaking showcase the beauty of the Sonoran Desert in winter. This Southwestern landscape was captured in Tucson Mountain Peak, just west of the iconic Gates Pass overlook near the city of Tucson, Arizona. Even though the Sonoran Desert remains warm in the winter, the cooler months, particularly December, can still produce moody and even dreary skies. This was taken just after sunset.

As though the moon is doing its best to part the laden clouds. Excellent work, Chance !

Wonderful image, Chane. The colors, adding a strong sense of coolness to the desert night, and just enough moon glow to sprinkle in its silver essence.
