Description
Northern lights shimmer across the magic nighttime skies of the Arctic winter. Somewhere deep in boreal remote interior of Alaska, we see the green, pink, red and purple bands light up the sky on a cold, icy night. Looking north toward some snowy mountains, with the Big Dipper constellation and North Star in the sky above, one is filled with wonder seeing this phenomenon of nature. The icy landscape is in the silence of the winter night. There is a slight glow in the water of a still, frozen lake from the reflection of the Aurora Borealis.
It is certainly a dream of mine someday to see these lights again. I saw them once in Wyoming in November of 2004 and that was amazing in itself, but I imagine that up by the Arctic Circle they are even more magical.
