On a very clear night, the band of the Milky Way Galaxy can be see rising to the east of Tucson, Arizona. The millions of stars fill the night sky as Reddington Road winds its way to Reddington Pass between the Santa Catalina and Rincon Mountains. Rural Pima County, as much of the state of Arizona and the desert Southwest, offer incredible views of stars especially during Milky Way Season. I personally find this image of the celestial heavens to be hopeful, surreal, and amazing. A single saguaro spear can also be seen along side this very quiet road. I used my headlamp to light paint the foreground to add intrigue and interest to this nightscape.
