Description

The Superstition Mountains are an icon of Arizona and the American Southwest. Seen at sunset, with a lush fuzzy cholla in the foreground, they rise above Apache Junction and the Phoenix metropolitan area in dramatic fashion. They are particularly spectacular during golden hour with clouds floating in the sky overhead. The Sonoran Desert scenery is lush and green during the springtime. This scene was observed in a Tonto National Forest wilderness area.
