Artist's Description
Just east of Tucson's eastside, the setting sun and its rays are seen peeking through the limbs of a saguaro cactus. Pusch Ridge and Mount Kimball are seen on the left below these lofty clouds and Sonoran Desert lushness and prickly pears adorn the landscape below.
Tucson, Arizona is flanked by the mighty Santa Catalina Mountains to the north of the city. Saguaro cacti surround the city in its perch on the floor of the Sonoran Desert that reaches into Arizona from Mexico. This iconic southwestern landscapes features some amazing sunsets, especially during the rainy season (also known as Monsoon season). Although it is a bit early for monsoon season to hit the Old Pueblo, and forecasters say it won't be fore a while, I couldn't help but notice magnicifcent clouds building up so I had to head out to the area near Saguaro National Park (Rincon Mountain division) to capture these photos of the gold, yellow, and deep blue radiance and glowing heavenly excellence that overtook...
About Chance Kafka
Tucson based photographer and artist Chance Kafka is a native of Laramie, Wyoming, and grew up in the small community of Wheatland, before returning to Laramie for college. He took an interest into photography at a young age, photographing clouds, sunsets, and landscapes. At age 17, he won 1st Place in the Platte County Fair photography competition in 3 out of 5 categories as the only entrant to win more than one category. Following this local success, he worked as a feature writer and photographer for the Platte County Record Times while still in high school.
