Snowy Humphreys Peak is the highest point in the state of Arizona at over 12,000 feet high. It. along with Agassiz Peak, form the San Francisco Volcanic field - these high peaks, above the treeline, form a ring with the famed Arizona Snow Bowl in the middle. This ancient stratavolcano rises amid the Kaibab Plateau, much of which is covered in pine trees and is part of the Coconino National Forest.
Kokopelli, a flute player spirit believed in Native American tradition to be a harbinger or fertility, rain and mischief is a timeless symbol of the Southwest. As an impressionistic painting with a blue sky and a few clouds, this idyllic Colorado Plateau morning scene in northern Arizona is part of an ongoing series of Kokpelli amid notable Arizona landscapes.
Tucson based photographer and artist Chance Kafka is a native of Laramie, Wyoming, and grew up in the small community of Wheatland, before returning to Laramie for college. He took an interest into photography at a young age, photographing clouds, sunsets, and landscapes. At age 17, he won 1st Place in the Platte County Fair photography competition in 3 out of 5 categories as the only entrant to win more than one category. Following this local success, he worked as a feature writer and photographer for the Platte County Record Times while still in high school.
