Description
The Tucson Mountains are seen during a moody winter evening from Tucson Mountain Park near the Gates Pass overlook. Rising west of the city of Tucson, this ancient volcanic mountain range is low enough in elevation to be adorned with the famous saguaro cacti throughout, and other Sonoran Desert vegetation such as the prickly pear cactus and cholla are visible in this view. The ambient light from a cloudy sunset lights the southwestern landscape in a unique glow. Even though southern Arizona has famously warm winters, it is capable of having very dramatic, even dreary, skies.

Living in the beauty of the southeastern US, full of trees and not many wide open spaces, I really enjoy seeing a different environment and all the beauty inherent there. The desert area is so different and lovely and you capture it well.
