Description

Brilliant stars fill the sky over Golden Gate Mountain just west of Tucson, Arizona. The Milky Way Galaxy is visible as a bright, bold and beautiful heavenly band of millions of stars filling the night sky. The bright planet Jupiter is also very visible. The Sonoran Desert of the American Southwest is a great landscape to view stars on a clear night - the nocturnal glow bringing the light of the cosmos to the still, rocky land.

Gates Pass is saddled between Golden Gate Mountains and Bushmaster Peak, just west of the Tucson metro, offering brilliant views of the Tucson Mountain and Avra Valley. The popular David Yetman begins around Golden Gate Mountain.
