Description
A lighting bolt strikes as a quick-moving summer monsoon thunderstorm begins to overtake Picacho Peak, between Tucson and Casa Grande, Arizona. This craggy, rugged, lone outpost of a mountain is a distinct feature along the otherwise fairly flat stretch of I-10 between Tucson and Phoenix. Looking southeast in the late afternoon, golden hour light illuminates a saguaro cactus and an outcropping of rocks and the wide open floor of the Sonoran Desert, with the peak and the storm set in the background.
