Description
The Veduawoo Recreation area is located in the southern flank of the Laramie Mountains between Laramie and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Locally famous for its unusual Sherman Granite boulders and rock formations, the unique landscape is apart of Medicine Bow National Forest. It is a popular area for people to hike around as there are many trails that snake through the area.
I also included a buck rail fence which is very commonly found in Wyoming. This impressionistic landscape painting is meant to convey the mood of autumn in the American West before the severe weather of winter sets in. Golden aspens can be seen in the distance as soft, warm sunlight lights the landscape as deep, shadowy clouds fill the sky. Birds fly through the sky.
Vedauwoo is pronounced Vee-duh-voo and is an Arapaho word for "earthborn," representing the Native American believe that these hoodoos are actually sacred spirits of the Earth.
